Our Aim

At Jake’s In The City we serve up hearty, no-fuss meals any time of day (and night). From a proper full English breakfast or “Monster” fry-up to filling burgers, melts, sandwiches and veggie-friendly options — there’s something for everyone.

Generous portions, good value and friendly service have made Jake’s a favourite among locals, students and late-night city-goers. Whether you’re grabbing a quick lunch, refuelling after a night out, or just in the mood for a comforting meal — Jake’s feels like your go-to.

Conveniently located in the heart of town and open long hours, we aim to deliver “proper food” — cooked fresh, served fast, and enjoyed by all.

  • Great cafe serving proper food, good food and at reasonable prices.

    The vegetarian breakfast is a generous portion of very tasty food. The vegetarian sausages are actually vegetable spring rolls, far better than fake meat! The hash browns contain proper bits of potato and the toast is thick like it should be.

    Good coffee too, I had cappuccino made with almond milk and it was spot on.

    The service is fast and friendly and it has a genuine friendly welcoming atmosphere.

  • Great little greasy spoon. We were able to walk in and get a table on Sunday morning without waiting. Food came out very quickly and was very tasty. I had a 1/2lb burger with cheese and chips, and my partner had a "monster" breakfast (which was to much for her).
